Made from 65% kid mohair and 35% silk, silk mohair is a soft and luxurious blend of the finest mohair and silk. Mohair is wool from Angora goats. This breed of goat has long, silky, curly wool fibers. Regular wool is added to give the yarn resilience and volume. Silk adds strength and shine while holding the fibers together when the yarn is brushed. The result is a soft, light, and airy yarn with a fluffy texture.

Yarn length: yarn weight; approx. 500 meters per 50 g ball; suggested needle size: 2.5 to 3 mm; knitting tension is 27 to 29 stitches = 10 cm.

The yarn is fine and goes a long way. If you knit with silk mohair using one or more strands, you will get a light, airy, and luxurious garment. If you use silk mohair as an accent yarn with other yarns, you will get an exciting result and good hold in any garment.

For machine washing, we recommend washing all wool garments separately on a wool cycle to ensure gentler treatment. Spin dry thoroughly and dry the garment flat.
